Animal Collective’s New “Applesauce” Video Will Mind F*** You In the Dark

Need a nice dose of psychedelia today? Animal Collective seems to think so – here’s the Indie forebears newest trippy video for your enjoyment. “Applesauce” is the 2nd single from their 2012 album, Centipede Hz – and in typical AnCo weirdo fashion, they want you to watch this new video in the dark.

Apparently, that’s the only way this Gaspar Noé directed freakshow, featuring just one woman eating fruit before a strobing, colorful screen, is to be experienced. This comes to us from the same head that directed the mind-bending films Irreversible and Enter the Void (if you haven’t seen the latter, check it out on Netflix).

If hanging out in the dark with some dudes named Panda Bear and Deakin doesn’t freak you out at all, press play on the video below and soak in the technicolor mindfuck. Just… don’t watch this if you’re epileptic… please.

SO Note: What are your thoughts on the new video? Let us know @Serial_Optimist.
