Creed Bratton will BLOW.YOUR.MIND.

An air of relaxation sweeps over you, the DVR is all set to record your favorite shows, and the familiar characters you count on to make you forget about bills, your cars engine light being on, your dogs new weird sneezing sound, (I just assume all my problems are your problems as well) instantly go away as soon as the intro to your favorite sitcom starts. It’s 22-minute Xanax. The writing makes most characters funny, but some actors take the character to another level, meaning they could say anything, or have only one line, and they always make you laugh (out loud). This list is made of those characters. The ones you quote the next day, the ones who steal each scene, the ones who make a not that great of show worth watching (although all these shows happen to be great). Enjoy some of our favorite quotes, videos and more in our “Top 5 Fall Male Characters” after the jump, and look forward to our “Top 5 Fall Female Characters” later this week.

Charlie Kelly

Charlie Kelly is a mess. But the beautiful thing about this character is that he makes messy look extremely fun. In a show with a group of people that might possibly be the worst people in all of television, it’s impossible to ever blame Charlie for any of it, and you never root against the guy. He is unfortunate and ruinous, but also endearing and sweet in his own kind of way. If he had millions of dollars, you know he would still spend his time hanging out under the bridge and creating new tools to kill rats.

Tom Haverford

When I think of swagger, I think of Tom Haverford. The entrepreneur/government employee/Entertainment 720 idea man is all about bringing the bottle popping hip hop mogul NYC/LA scene to Pawnee, Indiana. He will sell you on Entertainment 720, even if he doesn’t quite know exactly what they do. His swagger is..contagious, and I for one believe he will no doubt one day be the Jay-Z of Pawnee.

George Christopher

Who wouldn’t want a successful, marijuana and wine enthusiast always seeking some sort of adventure regardless of how silly it may be as their mentor? George Christopher offers advice, usually not good advice but at least it always sounds poetic. He’s reached that point in his life where he is sentimental and reflecting, but mostly he just wants to get in questionable situations, because it makes life all the more interesting.

____

Phil Dunphy

Phil Dunphy takes the nerdy, goofy, uncool Dad to the extreme. What this character so great is that Phil didn’t become this person when he had kids, he’s been this way his life. He wants to be his kids BFF, his daughters boyfriends BFF, his father-in-laws BFF, and he wants it bad. He tries so hard, and he knows it. But that’s just how Phil is. He is nerdy, goofy and uncool in the best possible ways.

Creed Bratton

Creed Bratton. You don’t see much of Creed, you don’t hear much of Creed, but when he speaks, you get some of the funniest, weirdest lines The Office has to offer. In fact, I don’t think Creed has ever uttered one thing that didn’t make me laugh hard. I have so many questions for him, I could talk to him for hours. However, Creed doesn’t provide answers, he provides thoughts, man!
